I am definitely feeling a little bit over whelmed, I just feel like I have to get so much done in a short amount of time. I kind of feel like this in all of my classes though. College goes by a lot quicker than high school does, and its just something I wasn’t expecting.

Good writing is the way i can get you guys wanna was a great.
Mine didn’t make any sense at all. Its not even proper grammar and wording. They things that came up are some of the words i use a lot, when i’m texting I always say “wanna” instead of want to. Good writing is a lot of different things. It depends on what you’re writing and who you are writing to. The main thing if you got the point of your writing across to your target audience.

I have grown a lot not only as a student but as a thinker in general. I think a lot differently and I do thinks a lot different, I even read differently. I read very carefully and more than once, and when I write, I draft way differently than i used to. This projects is using all of my new skills and its also making me learn new ones.
Module 8 Group Research
Working on this type of research is kind of hard, it not exactly hat i’m used to. Its kind of hard to understand to an extent but its getting better. Working in groups has its ups which is getting to work with and get to know new people, and it makes the work a little more fun. One of the downs is just maybe getting off track, but other than that it is going good!

I am pretty confident in my ability to work with my team, i have always worked good with other people. One skill I know I have is being very flexible, Im pretty go with the flow, so Im not very hard to work with. One skill Im nervous about is my typing skills, Im not the best, and Im the one taking notes for my team. But for taking notes I also have to listen and be involved, which I think I can do a pretty good job of.

This years writing has definitely changed the way I think about reading and writing. I never used to think about them at all, and i’m starting to see how important thy are, and how lucky I am to have been able to read and write starting from that age. Some aren’t as blessed as I was to have an education and to carry on that education to college.

I think that I am slowly starting to change my old ways on how I deal with school. In high school I never did my homework or studied and I got away with it. That doesn’t really fly here and I knew that coming into it and I thing I was a little prepared but defiantly not all the way. I am starting to get into the swing of things and i’m not doing too bad, the beginning was rough but i’m turning things in on time ans trying my best to study.
Malcolm X Activity
Malcolm X was human rights activist, who was a popular figure during the civil rights movement. He is best known for his controversial advocacy for the rights of black people. Some consider him a man who helped america in dark times with racism against black people, others accused of preaching racism and violence. Malcolm went to prison for breaking and entering and got 10 years and got on parole after 7 years. During that time Malcolm self educated himself, reading a bunch of books from the library, and even rewriting the dictionary. Malcolm’s overall message was the power of literacy, and what it did for him. He dropped out in 8th grade with barley knew how to read, the only thing knew how to decode words, he self taught almost everything he knows. Malcolm proves the stratification of access in minority across America. Yes, the message is still in affect, knowledge will always be power. Malcolm proved that and people continue to prove that today with all of out advances.
Cisneros Activity
Define the conflict-The conflict in Cisneros is that she desperately wants her dad to accept her writing, and also she wanted to be included and not undermined for being a girl by her brothers and dad.
Who are the characters? The characters the the story are Sandra, mom, dad, and all six brothers.
What is the literacy experience that she focuses on? The main one she focuses on is how she wasn’t seen by her family, and she was always under minded and left out for being a girl, so she took that neglect and started writing and that was her drive.
In what way has she critically framed her literacy experience for her readers? She makes it known that your writing can come from anywhere even a negative source is okay.
How is this narrative organized? She went from telling her own experience and gave examples and tells her story and how she felt.

The Cisnero story was interesting to me, she talks about her dad growing up and working really hard and wanting his kids to grow and use their minds, not their hands. She was the only girl out of seven kids and she just wanted her fathers approval of her writing and finally in the end she gets it. It talks about how she was always left out from her siblings so she wrote, and thats how she got started.
